Version:           3.4.1 (using KDE 3.4.1, Debian Package 4:3.4.1-1 (3.1))
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.6 (Debian 1:3.3.6-5)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.10

According to w3 org &shy; entitiy is expected to be a "soft hyphen" (kinda of <WBR>) and as such, shall have not visual representation. Unfortunately Konqueror seems not to handle &shy; at all, rendering a little dot instead.
