Description Ferdinand Gassauer 2005-08-20 11:48:11 UTC
Version:           1.8.90 (using KDE 3.4.90 (alpha1, >= 20050806), compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-21.8-smp

Hi!

kontact/kmail dies without (!) a crash and at this occasion one imap subfolder on SLOX is deleted.

Same folder was delete yesterday on a SuSE 9.3 with KDE 3.4.2 SuSE rpms.

unfortunately I do not know where to look.

let me say that I use this SLOX imap service for at least a year and this never happend.

what I have added during the last month or so is a kolab account.

AFAIR it also never happend that a KDE-programm dies without calling the crash handler.

please let me know if I can help debugging this.

IFAIR correctly it happens during sending / uploading of mails with big attachments (+1MB)

Perhaps kmail was killed by the kernel because it consumed too much memory?
When was this folder deleted?
Comment 3 Ferdinand Gassauer 2005-08-20 12:28:04 UTC
I do not know exactly "when"

somewhere between the death and after reopening kontact/kmail.

after reopening kmail the folder didn't exist any more.

and what makes my wondering - it definitely was not an open folder and it happens during sending and it's not a folder which was concerned by this sending operation

To what type of account does this folder belong to?
Comment 5 Ferdinand Gassauer 2005-08-20 18:37:41 UTC
it is a imap SLOX mail folder

FYI
the folder was not availabe in SLOX-WEB-Interface and in Kontact/kmail

Thunderbird, which I opened later (but was configured for this account) showed a (+) indicating that there is a subfolder, but it showed to be empty trying to open it.

btw
the first time the folder was deleted
the second time the folder was not readable any more

hope that helps
