Description vdrmrt 2005-08-10 21:15:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)

When copying a directory structure (min 3 levels) from a NTFS partition with konqueror to an other partition, I get the following error "Could not make folder".

When I use the cp command in console the copy works.

Can you find a filename that gives problem or is it more a problem of the volume of the copy?

Have a nice day!

No, it gives a problem when the directory structure is being created.

Maybe some extra info.
It were 2 external harddrives connected through usb. One NTFS (source) the other one FAT.

Today I had the same problem but it was with a fat partition. I think I know the problem. When you copy from a partition were the permitions are " r-xr-xr-x " you can only copy 1 level down the directory your copying from. If there is a third level you will get error that I can't create the directory.

Hope it helps.
Regards

KDE 3 is no longer maintained. If the problem can be replicated in KDE 4, feel free to reopen this ticket.
