Description Emil Obermayr 2005-08-08 01:58:37 UTC
Version: 3.4 (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

when typing in the URL field the first characters can get lost if the start of the automatic search takes too long

example:

typing: google.de
sometimes results in: ogle.de

Can you describe with more details, please?

its difficult to reproduce because it does not happen every time

sometimes it seems to take some seconds till the list of URLs in the history is available:

I enter the URL-field and start to type, for example 'google.de'

after a short moment the drop down list of URLs in the history appears

the URL does not contain the characters I typed before the list appeared, but only "ogle.de"

if I try to reproduce it just after it happened once it does not happen any more; it looks like the data is "cached" now

maybe its because of a slow/lagging file system; I use NFS which is normally fast enough but not that fast as a local file system of course

sounds like autocompletion kicked in and selected what you had already typed. When you type more, you erase what was there.
