Description John Stumbles 2005-07-29 12:37:29 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: I Don't Know
OS: Linux

Apologies for opening a new bug report but Bug 62763 is shown RESOLVED as not reproducible (surely should be CLOSED in that case?) and I am getting that bug's symptom quite consistently developing into another symptom.

I opened konq, navigated to a dir in my ~ which I'd already set to tree view. Then I expanded a couple of sub-dirs so I had something like maybe:

+ foo
| + bar
| | + wiz
| + baz
| + file1
| + file2

then mark and ^x cut say file1 & file2
then right click and paste on, say, 'wiz'
konq moves the files OK, but then immediately crashes with SIGSEGV and the attached backtrace (sample only, I hadn't saved the trace from previous crashes).

I'd done this 2 or 3 times with different dirs and files, sometimes cutting & pasting dirs, sometimes just files and had crashes each time.

However I now have a situation where konq just hangs* when attempting to browse any part of the filesystem (e.g. ~, applications:/ media:/) although it still renders web pages.

* the main part of the window is empty and the location bar blank if I try to close it (with the [x] window control button) I get a "Warning - KWin" popup "Window with title <whatever> is not responding ... belongs to konqueror ... do you wish to terminate"

Platform is kubuntu 5.04 (hoary) BTW - I didn't know if that should be Debian stable or testing/unstable in earlier bug-reporting step: maybe someone could add an option there?
