Version:           1.8.50 (using KDE 3.4.89 (>= 20050615), compiled sources)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.4.4
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.11

When I select customise toolbar, the only way I can have the 'new message' icon is if I select it through the Kontact toolbar. If I don't, and select it through the kmail toolbar it doesn't appear. It DOES appear twice if I then add it to the Kontact toolbar...

In other words, unless it's added to the Kontact toolbar it doesn't appear at all.
