Description IOANNIS 2005-07-26 06:10:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Hello
I need to quote the bugs 79452 and 70789 for reference. Yet neither of them describes the following crash.
After the computer boots and I log in kde, when the desktop appears, I launch the konqueror and kontact.
Kontact launches kwallet. While it is still loading, I bring the konqueror in focus and I klik in the location bar or on the down arror next to it (I don't remember this detail).
If kwallet's password request pops out AT THE SAME TIME when the location bars history loads then I have the following deadlock:
1) Konqueror is on focus
2) The cursor in password request is blinking
3) I can't type anything neither in the location bar, nor the password in the kwallet
4) The mouse arror moves over the screen but I can't klik on any button, nor the buttons in the dock respond when the mouse is over them.
5) the kwallet's password request form appears to be in all desktops yet, I can't switch to anyone.

This crash has occured twice so far. The first time I tackled it with ctrl+alt+backspace. The second I used the power button to switch off the computer, because the keyboard didn't respond.

I hope this can help. Too bad I don't have a backtrace to provide.
Ioannis

Yes it's a bit of a known issue but I'm not sure what can be done yet. The
problem is that the history combo calls kded for favicons and kwallet is also
in kded. Short of pulling one of them out into a separate daemon, I have no
solution presently. Also I think this bug is a dupe but I'm not sure where
the original is yet.
