Version: 1.8.1 (using KDE 3.4.1, Debian Package 4:3.4.1-1 (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (Debian 1:3.3.6-5) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.12-3-686-smp This appears to be a regression from bug #70173. The problem is two fold: 1. replying to a mail that has a forwarded mail as attachement only qoutes the outer mail. The forwarded mail is completely dropped. I think that the forwarded message should be qouted as well. 2. selecting the inlined mail by clicking on "Encapsulated message" opens a new window with the forwarded mail. Selecting Message/Reply from the menu still qoutes only the outer mail. Expected behaivior here would be to only reply to the currently opened (forwarded) mail. IMHO should this also include using only the recipients list from the inner mail. Andreas
The same thing happens in my case, I click on an encapsulated message ot open it in a separate window, and then if I click the reply button in the new window KMail would instead reply the outer message. KDE Version 1.8.2 (KDE 3.4.2, compiled sources) Application E-Mail Client Operating System Linux (i686) release 2.6.13.2-dg2 Compiler gcc version 3.3.6
I can confirm this behavior for KDE 3.5.5 could this be set to 'NEW' ?
Ok, this bug report has 2 parts so I comment accordingly - (1) is confirmed case and this bug is there even in KMail 1.9.1/ KDE 3.5.2 ( vanilla-build from distro ) (2) Works with KMail 1.9.1 / KDE 3.5.2 . So looks like this part has been fixed.
Don't consider 1) as a bug. When you reply an attachment - being it a mail or not - is never automatically attached.
