Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Compiler: gcc version 3.4.3 (Mandrakelinux 10.2 3.4.3-7mdk) CFLAGS=-O3 -funroll-loops -ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer OS: Linux This is affecting Kasbar when I have chosen to group windows together and have more than one instance of an application (for example, Xterm) open. In versions prior to KDE 3.4, clicking on the relevant item in Kasbar would open up a string of icons (one for each window) immediately alongside the Kasbar. Clicking again on any item in the Kasbar or selecting one of the windows would then close down the string of icons. Since KDE 3.4 (both the initial release and 3.4.1) clicking on an item results in the string of icons opening up a random distance from the kasbar (sometimes actually behind other windows.) Clicking on the Kasbar item a second time brings the icons into the correct place. However, no clicking seems to be able to make the icons vanish again and the only thing that seems to remove them is to hover over another item so that the thumbnail erases it. I notice that the icons all flash as if something's trying to happen, but evidently it isn't quite managing. I've also noticed that the number of icons displayed doesn't always reflect the correct number of instances of that application that are open. For example, at the moment I've got three Firefox windows open but when I click on the Firefox item (which correctly has the "multiple instances" indicator) sometimes I get three icons, other times two or even one. At other times no icons appear at all. Apart from this, the new release looks good - the overall appearence is even nicer than it was in 3.3.
Kasbar is no more developed and it will not be ported on KDE4. Kasbar bugs are being closed as "UNMANTAINED". For specific kasbar feature which doesn't exists in the new KDE4 please open a new wish for KDE4. :-) Many thanks.
