*** Bug 129019 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Original reporters: Can you reproduce this bug with KDE 3.5.4 or 3.5.5?
for 3.5.4 i can reproduce this bug, in 3.5.5 unfortunately not (because the mail-to-link has disappeared completely)!
I run 3.5.5 and I do see the link, i.e. the name of the contact is the link.
the name of the contact is a link, but it links to the contact-page, it does not open a new mail window. in the older versions there was an extra mailsymbol.
By contact-page you mean internet-address for that contact? In my case it opens a composer-window. Maybe there is a hidden setting for what the link does.
Sorry for confusing. birthday reminder means the small popup, which comes by the "KOrganizer-Erinnerungsmodul" it contains the name of the person (who has birthday), the name is a link, that leads to the same window as when editing a contact in the adressbook or in Kontact. That behaviour is the same in older and actual KDE versions. In older versions i saw an additional mail-link-icon when the person has an existing mailadress. the mail-link-icon worked in earlier versions as expected, but with the strange naming behaviour, in 3.5.5 it disappeared.
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kontact (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
