Description lexual 2005-07-02 05:19:34 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 3.3.5
OS: Linux

Open links in new tab instead of new window is selected in configure konqueror.
Hitting Ctrl-ENTER on a link should open the link in a new tab. But what is happening is that the link is open both in a new tab and in the current tab.

I'm running HEAD compiled from source on kubuntu hoary.

When you say "HEAD", please say which revision or date of your build.

I can confirm on trunk 424191.
Comment 2 Stephan Binner 2005-07-15 19:48:21 UTC
seems to work fine in branch
Comment 3 lexual 2006-03-03 09:39:25 UTC
It appears that the Ctrl-ENTER behaviour is now not working at all.
Comment 4 lexual 2006-10-16 23:23:58 UTC
Still current for 3.5.5
Note that this is a regression from past releases.

Comment 6 Iñaki Baz Castillo 2007-02-11 22:21:20 UTC
Confirmed in 3.5.6 (Kubuntu Edgy).
Comment 7 Frank Steinmetzger 2007-11-09 01:57:41 UTC
Still there in 3.5.7 on Gentoo.
Comment 8 lexual 2007-12-13 00:06:56 UTC
Still valid for kde4.
This is a regression from earlier releases in the kde3 cycle.
Comment 9 Iñaki Baz Castillo 2009-07-29 01:51:48 UTC
Still present in konqueror 4.2.98
Comment 10 Frank Steinmetzger 2009-10-12 00:56:37 UTC
And still there in 4.3.2 (Gentoo). :'-(
Comment 11 David Faure 2010-01-28 01:28:30 UTC
Hmm, this bug report is a lie :-) Ctrl+Enter did not open a link in a new tab in konqueror-kde3, I just retested.

Ctrl+Enter works in the location bar indeed, but not on links.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be a good idea, it would certainly be one (but khtmlview simply calls node->activate() currently, so the information that we want open-in-tab isn't easy to pass over), but it's not a regression.

Hi,

I'm wasn't saying that this worked in kde3 and stopped working in kde4.
I'm saying this worked in early kde3.x versions and stopped working somewhere along the kde3.x series.

It's so long ago that I may well be wrong, but I'm fairly confident that it did work at some stage.

Lex.

Yes, this is what I reported. This feature was working until some version of KDE3, and the issue persists in KDE4.

I see. An *old* regression then :-}
Comment 16 FiNeX 2012-01-05 22:25:15 UTC
Works on KDE 4.7.4
Comment 17 Frank Steinmetzger 2013-06-20 23:19:10 UTC
But not on my 4.10.4.
I opened this very page (and one other) in Konqueror and tried both Ctrl and Shift+Enter on some links, such as Comment xx links on the right. The effect is always that of normal Enter.
