Version: 1.7.2 (using KDE 3.3.2, (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (Debian 1:3.3.6-5) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-2-686 Currently I'm using Debian Sarge with ru_RU.KOI8-R KOI8-R locales settings. I have installed the russian and the hungarian (it use iso-8859-2) ispell packages and here comes the problem: the spell-checker in Kmail always setup itself to use the iso-8859-2, however this encoding is useless with russian language. I've tried to change it manually, but it always and immediately overwrites my settings and the settings in Kcontrol too and use the iso-8859-2 and therefore the spell-checking fails. This bug present not only in Debian, but in every distribution with kde 3.3.2.
And I've just tested the American ispell with Kmail spell-checker and it produce the same problem: the encoding switch to iso-8859-2 and the spell-checking fails. ------- Original message ------- From: Nicolas Goutte <nicolasg@snafu.de> To: mekoc@inbox.ru Subject: [Bug 108254] Encodings in Kmail and Kcontrol with ispell ru+hu Date: 28 Июнь 2005 10:13 [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
