Description JMONROY 2005-06-27 10:47:32 UTC
Version: 3.3.0 (using KDE KDE 3.3.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

Not all directories are displayed in the right click COPY/MOVE function when large amounts of directories exist.

For instance, I have a directory with over 200 subdirectories. When I try to move a file using the right click menu for MOVE/COPY, I am not able to see all of the directories because Konqueror limits the amount of directories shown. Specifically, it cuts off the amount to just what will fill the screen. There is no "overflow" hover option to continue displaying the remainder of the directories.

It's as if the author assumed no one would have more then 200 subdirectories (BTW, these subdirectories are Artist names under my MP3 master directory). It's annoying because when I want to move files to an artist who's name starts in the latter part of the alphabet, such as Y or Z, I can't because not all subdirectories are displayed.

confirming for 3.4.1 kubuntu packages.
A good way to try this out on a debian based system is to try to move to a directory in /usr/share/doc which should have a large number of directories.

I'm not sure what the solution is, but it needs to be handled more elegantly than it is currently.

This is one of the usability issues that lead to the removal of the plugin from KDE4. We will provide a better solution for KDE4.
I don't expect any change for KDE3 regarding this issue.
