Description Claudia Eberle 2005-06-15 09:34:02 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

how to reproduce: every time I start my computer
what happens: error-message, which tells me to tell this bug to the bug-page
effects: I tried to install the Samba-Server, and no connection from another Linux-client is possible (also error message: problem with stat)
(however, I have this bug since I have installed my SuSE 9.3); I always update my Linux

What do you try to do? Browse in smb-network with konqueror and it crashes?
Comment 2 Claudia Eberle 2005-06-15 11:07:05 UTC
Yes, I tried to browse on PC 2 , Konqueror in smb-network and don't get any connection to PC1 (ping is working). The funny thing is that when I change the roles (PC2 as Samba-Server, PC1 with KDE-problem as client), the connection works. That's the reason why I didn't take care about the error message until yesterday, because I didn't realize that my bug had any effect.

i have the same problem accesing my windows shares... sometimes its possible and i see the files in the folder, but when i'm tyring copying them or accesing them i'm asked again for my username (the strange thing is, i shared this folder for "Everyone" )

Agree! I also have the same problems. Did you find a solution or a workaround yet?
Comment 5 Chris H 2006-02-28 11:37:43 UTC
Same here. sometimes all works correctly and sometimes the workgroup is empty. Accessing the Workgroup results in the error-message.

KDE 3 is no longer maintained. Feel free to reopen the ticket if the problem is still applicable in the current stable KDE 4 version. Thank you for your report.
