Description Tassilo Horn 2005-06-10 22:18:45 UTC
Version: 1.8.1 (using KDE KDE 3.4.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc-3.4.4
OS: Linux

Hi,

kmail crashes instantly when you hold shift and click somewhere into the message preview area. If you doubleclick the message, so that it is opened in a separate window and do the same (shift + click) kmail crashes, too.

This is absolute reproducible here.

Regards,
Tassilo

Please provide a backtrace for the crash, because otherwise it is impossible to fix the crash.

Please also make sure that your compile options are sane.

Thanks!

Comment 3 Tassilo Horn 2005-06-10 23:16:01 UTC
I've recompiled kmail only with "-O1 -pipe -g3", but still I get no useful backtrace.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This backtrace appears to be of no use.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creation of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.

I've seen that another guy has the same problem. He provided you with a good backtrace.

Thanks for taking the time to report this crash. It has since been fixed.

my crash log seems different (have no idea how to read it) - using gentoo too but without "real" optimizations (-Os -march=pentium4 -pipe):
