Version: 1.8.1 (using KDE 3.4.1 Level "a" , SUSE 9.3 UNSUPPORTED) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11.4-20a-default While looking at new mails with "+", the desktop sometimes freezes permanently --- in the past four days seven times. This is not just kmail apparently freezing while spamassassin runs --- all applications (keyboard and mouse) are frozen. If I go to another machine, I can login in with ssh and linux is running normally with no process hogging cpu time. Neither killing kmail nor kde nor X helps.Even init 3 has no effect. The frozen screen doesn't disappear until I reboot. Malcolm
This seems to be a hardware problem, maybe a video driver bug.
