Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs Steps to reproduce: 1. Message->New message 2. Attach->Attach file 3. Select a file containing RFC 822 message headers. Observed behaviour: 4. KMail attaches the message as type "application/x-mimearchive" Expected behaviour: 5. KMail should attach the message as type "message/rfc822-headers"
There is nothing like rfc822 headers. We deal with messages. Therefore I close it as duplicate from your previous submission. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 107069 ***
Sorry, I made an error in this report. It's about the official MIME media type text/rfc822-headers, not message/rfc822-headers. This MIME type is defined in RFC 1892 and is registered with the IANA: http://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/text/ This is a different type of file than message/rfc822, which Bug 107069 deals with. (Files of type text/rfc822-headers are commonly sent by mailer daemons as part of failure messages.) I am therefore reopening this bug. If possible, please change the title of this bug to "text/rfc822-headers attachments are misidentified as application/x-mimearchive").
Confirming bug still exists in KDE 4.2.2.
Can you please provide such a file here=
Björn, just about any Postfix bounce message will include such an attachment. Nonetheless I'll attach one for you...
Created attachment 39217 [details] A sample text/rfc822-headers file
Created attachment 39218 [details] A sample bounce message in which a text/rfc822-headers file is embedded
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
