Version: 3.4.0 (using KDE 3.4.0, Debian Package 4:3.4.0-0pre4 (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-12) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-2-686 When right-clicking a hyperlink in Konqueror while web browsing, links that contain a new window target ("<a href=xyz target='_new'>") show an extra menu item in the context menu: "Open in This Window." It would be nice if, when Konqueror's File Browser behavior is configured to open folders in separate windows, a similar option was available when right-clicking folders. It might also be nice if a Modifier key could be available to override the current behavior. (I believe Mac OS 7.5 had this: [Option]+double-click would open a folder in the current window, rather than opening in a new window.)
If my idea in Bug 106830 is implemented (showing a special mouse cursor when hovering over HTML links that contain a new window target), it might be nice if Konqueror's File Browser view would also show the special mouse cursor when hovering over a folder if the "open folders in new windows" is enabled. Additionally, if the modifier key idea described above is implemented, the mouse cursor should also change shape if the behavior is being altered on-the-fly via the modifier key. Thanks! :)
Is this wish still valid?
Using Konqeuror under KDE 4 (on my work laptop, so sorry, I don't know which precise version offhand), I actually found I could not even open folders in new windows any more. I've since moved on to using Dolphin as my file browser, and Chrome/Chromium as my browser, FYI.
Is it ok to close this ticket now?
Sure. (Sorry for taking so long to respond.)
