Version: 1.7.1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux When I make \cite{} the completation list is based on bibtex key field. Some times is very dificult to translate the bibtex key field to the citation that I need. I very cool the XEmacs process to make citation on text, it make a search in whole bibtex file then I can choose one or more bibliography to cite. This function in kile is very usefull Thanks Ronaldo
Now I'm using kile 1.8.1, and the bibliographic search is the same. Other problem in the bibliographic citation is the limitation do find and select one entry per time, and it is not possible to continue the search from a \cite{Reis-Jr,}. The , must be active a new select box to search a new bibliography entry and add a new one in the previews citation, like this: \cite{Reis-Jr,DeSouza, etc} Thanks Ronaldo
Hi Ronaldo, insertion of more than one citation is quite unconvenient, you are right. The Popup only occurs if the cursor is behind the opening curly bracket of \cite{}. The bibliographic search has also not yet be modified. For the moment it is best to use an external Bibtex program (like kbibtex/pyblioggrapher). We want to get kbibtex better integrated into kile, but this is at the moment only a plan. Thanks Thomas
Hi, The citation method from kile 2.0 work fine, but I think that is possible to make it better. Now when I use \cite{} the popup is open and the citation key if showed to choose a citation. Generally citation key have not a good information to help us in choosing process. If this function show more information about each entry this should be more usable. Some think like this: \cite{} and the popup show: Reis, R. 2000. This is a testing title. Desouza, O & Reis, R. 2001. This is a other testing title. Reis. R, etall. 2002. This is the last testing title. I think that the author, year and title is sufficient. But maybe it is a good task to put in configuration. In this way any user can choose how kile show the citation in the citation popup, including the sort order. I know about others softwares (kbib, jabref, etc), I use now jabref, but the citation directly used in kile is more fast method to cite. Thanks Ronaldo
