Description Nicholas Allen 2005-05-18 00:22:18 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I have a removable hard disk which contains some ISO image files on it (> 600 MB). I decided to organise the files and put them in folders through the media io slave. I selected one file and pressed Ctrl-X and then went to the destination folder and pressed Ctrl-V. Both folders were on the same external hard drive. KDE then proceeded to copy the file and showed a progeress dialog. Obviously this would take a long time for a 600 MB file.

I then went into konsole and used the mv command and the move was instantaneous. The media io slave should do the same thing and be just as efficient.
