Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages OS: Linux When navigating in the menu bar with the keyboard, I can use the arrow keys. However, POS1 and END are not enabled. This means that I have to go down a long way if the menu is somewhat larger. Please enable the POS1 and END keys with menu navigation. As an example for how it should work, start any GTK app, open a menu by pressing ALT+key and press END. Then try this with a native KDE app.
- when your on the first item the up arrow highlights the last item - when your on the last item the down arrow highlights the first one So native KDE app: ALT+key and up arrow is equivalent to your GTK example.
That's exactly what I am doing right now. But think of the (rare) situation, where you happen to be in the middle of a longer menu and want to go to the beginning or end immediately. In that case I would have to hit ESC-ESC-ALT+key-UP Yes, this whish is not the most important one in the world. But I filed it anyway since I guess it is not too hard to implement. It's a nano-scale improvement (so I won't give it a vote), but hey, it's still an improvement ;-)
still not implemented in KDE 3.5.8. still hoping for that feature.
I think also think this should work by default. I often miss this especially in krunner and in application launcher search: - Ctrl+right/left: to jump one word forward/behind - POS1/END: to jump to the first/last letter
seems to be implemented now. --> resolved: workfsforme
