Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: Gentoo Packages Compiler: gcc 3.4.3 OS: Linux Hi Esben (Esben is your first name right? Can I call you Esben?) I've went through various bug reports abt 'inconsistency' with Klipper's behavior, especially regarding Clipboard/Selection. Let me say that I am one of those when I step into KDE from Windows a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I can appreciate (more of) the issues with CTRL-V/SHIFT-INS, cross-(free)desktop convention, Clipboard/Selection, etc. I came from a Windows world, specically SecureCRT (ssh to my servers) and Firefox. The former is a gem (like vim) and one of the productivity-gainer for me is its "automatic copy my selection to clipboard". Note, in the Windows world, no other app have this feature. Now, in KDE, the first thing I look for in Konsole was this feature. I was told I need to turn on the "sync clipboard/selection" feature in Klipper. I did that and I was happy. Until I realise other apps too have this feature, and it caused me no end of frustration and watching my steps on selection (because it might just screwed my carefully copied 32-char randomly generated password :) Cut long story short. In Windows, individual app does it own business with the clipboard. In KDE, it's all centralized in Klipper. Can we have the ability to specify a list of apps that will have "clipboard/selection in sync"? All other apps not in this list will have "separate clipboard/selection".
Sorry about the late response. In principle, this is possible, but there might be such a thing as too many configuration options. I'll think about it, but I'm not promising anything.
I concur. This would be useful.
This is not feasible to implement, sorry.
