Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: Compiled From Sources Many apps provide a "Recent files" type menu, which can be very useful. I would like a similar menu, under "Location" on the konqueror file-manager --- "Recent directories". I often work for a few days mainly in one or a few directories well below my home. Short of configuring a special profile for konqueror for each of these, I'm forced to click my way through to where I'm working. I see that this is more difficult than the "Recent files" case, since one goes through so many directories in the normal use of konqueror. As a starting suggestion, how about either just truly showing the last, say, 10 directories, or remembering only those that have been gone to by changing directory more than once in a certain time (i.e. click-click rather than click-opensomething-lookabout-click ...).
@Peter: What do you think about this? could be merged with the "stacked folder" proposal?
Created attachment 38850 [details] screenshot This file picker is a big reason why my primary OS remains OS/2.
@FiNeX: could you please give me a pointer to the "stacked folder" proposal? Thanks!
@Peter: The keyword was "boxes", not "stack", I'm sorry. I'm referring to this wish: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=200461
@FiNeX: I think this is a different wish to the "stack", so I'd just leave it as separate wish here...
@Peter: ooooook :-)
Is the "Places" menu adequate for this? Of course it requires the user to manually add the working folders instead of adding the recent ones automatically.
Manual good. Automatic very much better.
