Description Hans Berkah 2005-04-07 10:56:50 UTC
Version: 3.3.1 (using KDE 3.3.2, (3.1))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10

After having tried out some features regarding KEYBOARD LAYOUT, this function (switchig between US and GERMAN keyboard etc.) doesn't work anymore. The screen shows instead of one of the flags an icon "err".
Under Settings/Regional.../Keyborad Layout, all switches and functions are accesible, but without any effect on the system.
Shuting down and rebooting the system doesn't help.

Is there a way to "repair" the KDE functions for switching keyboard layout ? Or do I have to reinstall my distribution?

By the way, this doesn't look like a bug report... it looks more like a request for assistance. Have you tried asking some forums and user mailing lists?

You may want to go to ~/.kxkb/share/config remove kxkbrc file and the reconfigure your layouts. If it still does not work please attach your new kxkbrc, /etc/X11/xkb/rules/xorg.lst and provide the command line kxkb configuration module displays for your layouts.

Can't reproduce and there was no feedback for a while, if you still have this problem please provide more information.
