Description Dik Takken 2005-04-05 00:09:57 UTC
Version: 0.7.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
OS:                Linux

The batch processing effects that are available from the main DigiKam window are not available when editing a single picture in the image editor. Things like Noise Reduction are really quite useful in an image editor.

On the other hand, some processing options that are available from the image editor (like Red Eye Reduction) are not available for batch processing.

My wish is that both the image editor and the batch processor will have the same processing possibilities.

digiKam use 2 plugins framework :

kipi --> Main interface.
DigikamImagePlugins --> Editor.

Are you sure to make Red Eyes Correction in batch process using Kipi plugins (:=)))... with and editor to select image area !

In one word : Read the doc :

http://docs.kde.org/en/HEAD/kdeextragear-3/digikam/using-kapp-pluginssupport.html

I do know about the two seperate plugin frameworks. I'm just asking that plugins that are useful for both the image editor and the main interface should be in both frameworks. Especially from a user perspective it's weird that the image editor can't do denoising while the main interface can.

Image editor from trunk svn branch (0.9.0-svn) has now a powerfull noise reduction tool based on dcamnoise2 implementation, and support 16 bits images. It look better than simple kipi despleckle filter using Image magick. Take a look here :

Let's me hear if it's right for you !

Dik, since current digiKam implemtation (0.9.0-svn) include a powerfull Noise Reduction plugin based on dcamnoise2 implementation, i think this file is invalid. Take a look here :
