Description Dik Takken 2005-04-03 16:42:55 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

Rendering postscript documents can take a long time. A print preview of a 2 megapixel photograph takes about 3 minutes to display on my 800 MHz Athlon processor. This is the fault of the ghostscript interpreter, but because KGhostView does not clearly show busy (except for the waiting mouse cursor) so it appears to be frozen.

Please add a progress/busy indicator while rendering is in progress. When there is no progress info available, a bouncing progress bar shoud be fine.

Could you check what the situation with this wish is with Okular for the document you are talking about? Okular usually opens the documents too fast to need a progress bar :)

I checked.. and.. Well, I guess there have been some speed improvements in the past seven years... :D

Closing bug.
