Description Sebastien 2005-03-29 17:37:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

Icons and smileys are not verticaly aligned.
It result to a non-beautiful look.
Please use the equivalent of CSS "vertical-align: middle;" for KMail.

It includes smileys, but also files (attachements) icons: in Konqueror icons-title is vertically centered.
That should be consistent in KMail.

Also, when simleys are activated the make the text flowing strangly, visually breaking the paragraph into TWO paragraphs: before and after the smiley.
eg. this is a text:

A paragraph without smiley
Lorem Impsum Latin is good
good is Latin :) Lorem Impsum

And a second paragraph.

A paragraph WITH smiley
Lorem Impsum Latin is good
              o_\
good is Latin o / Lorem Impsum
This line seems to be ANOTHER paragraph
because it'ss too spaced

Smileys should NOT modify the vertical space of a line (line-height?).

The smileys are a very nice feature of the new Kmail version. Unfortunately, I don't like very much those used and that's right, the alignement is not perfect.

One nice feature would be to add the possibility to choose a set of smileys such as in Kopete configuration menu. And why not, share the smileys and the code with Kopete.

Fixed long time ago (now we can select a theme of emoticon in kde)
