Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: Slackware Packages Compiler: GCC 3.4 64-bit package. OS: Linux With Kate, if you restore it from a maximized state, it will generate a window layout like attachement 1. If you grab the corner edge and do a diagonal resize (or even hit maximize), Kate will not correctly rescale the widgets inside to fill the space (see attachment #2 [details]).

KDevelop does not exhibit this behaviour. Other apps I have also don't seem to do it, only Kate.
This are two BRs in one, but both are KMDI bugs: 1. Shade window, restore (duplicate of #96602). this is not fixed. 2. Wrong fixed height of the bottom pane. I fixed that for KDE 3.4.1. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 96602 ***
