Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Linux Hello, I've added the following like to my ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf : --start--- comment PGP/GPG Public Key available at http://www.mydomain.TLD/path/to/my/pubkey.asc --end-- so that everything (app, including kmail) that uses gnupg, would by default add the "comment"-line. It worked well with 'GnuPG v1.2.6 (GNU/Linux)', but I've just noticed today that since I've updated to v1.4.0 my Kmail no longer added, or adds, the "comment"-line. so I did a quick check by: gpg -ab afile and it produced the output with the "comment"-line. I've also checked to see if I haven't by accident enabled or disabled something of relevance, thought didn't find any changed setting(s)...

*hum* I've just tested, by adding: --start-- no-emit-version --end-- to my ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf and both: gpg -ab afile && kmail output a signuture without the 'Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux)' comment *hum, indeed* ... to why it doesn't like the gnupg 'comment' option. PS. And No, I don't have 'no-comments' defined anywhere in any of my gpg.conf .. if I did, then why doesn't 'gpg -ab afile' produce the same output as kmail? unless it's defined in some config that kmail uses? ... but then it'd be strange to why it worked with gnupg v1.2.6, and doesn't with v1.4.0 - especially if I haven't changed any such setting - to my recollection/knowledge though :)
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2. We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
