Version: 0.10 (using KDE 3.4.0, Debian Package 4:3.4.0-0pre1 (3.1)) Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.7-1-386 Hi. I would like to configure Kopete to blink or change the color of the icon in the system tray in ALL incoming messages, not just in the new ones. This behaviour is similar to what other programs do (konversation, and if I recall correctly, kmess). Since I use multiple desktops, and I don't see windows of all desktops in the taskbar, when I'm working in one, I don't see the taskbar changing in other one. The only alternative, is using the popup in the notifications, but this is very annoying compared to a simple change in the system tray. Thanks in advance.
I'd like to see this too..
Isn't this a duplicate of Bug 65019?

I see this a two separate things: * Bug #65019 means _changing_ the actual notifications to happen only when the window is non focused (IMHO, is great idea too). * Bug #102168 (this one) means _adding_ a new notification: blink/change the incon in the system tray (though I don't know if this can be managed using the standard notifications, or in the "configure kopete" option). Greetings.

I don't really understand, there is already such a notification, as you wrote: "I would like to configure Kopete to blink or change the color of the icon in the system tray in ALL incoming messages, not just in the new ones." So, what exactly are "new" messages compared to "all incoming"? > * Bug #65019 means _changing_ the actual notifications to happen only when the window is non focused (IMHO, is great idea too). Bug 65019 states that the systray icon never flashs on new messages if a window is already open for the contact, regardless wether it has focus or not. But the systray icon needs to flash if the window for the contact hasn't focus or isn't visible. Juan Linietsky in additional comment 17: "WHEN a message is received... THEN WHILE the user DID NOT READ the message, DO FLASH the traybar icon" You wrote: "Since I use multiple desktops, and I don't see windows of all desktops in the taskbar, when I'm working in one, I don't see the taskbar changing in other one." Juan Linietsky in additional comment 34: "Taskbar notifications are **NOT ENOUGH** because **LINUX HAS MULTIPLE DESKTOPS** and **YOU DONT SEE NOTIFICATIONS FROM OTHER DESKTOPS**"
Since I do not understand the difference, there has been no feedback for four months and I have fixed Bug 65019, I will mark this one as a duplicate. Feel free to reopen it but please explain what you need that is not done by fix for Bug 65019. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 65019 ***
