Description meyerm 2005-03-22 13:13:09 UTC
Version: 1.8 (using KDE 3.4.0, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.3 20050110 (Gentoo Linux 3.4.3.20050110, ssp-3.4.3.20050110-0, pie-8.7.7)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11-gentoo-r4

KMail is set up to check for email on an IMAP server every few minutes and that worked quite well. But since 1.8 (kde 3.4) KMail no longer shows the mails in the message list. In the folder list the new mails are correctly "counted". Manually checking for mails doesn't help. I have to look into another folder and then "come back" - then the message list is complete (it seems that even this sometimes failes, but I can't reproduce. So I will wait with reporting that until I'm sure that was not just a coincidence.)

I looks similar to bug 58090 which is already closed.

Do you know which IMAP server (Courier, Cyrus, some other) this is?
Comment 2 meyerm 2005-03-27 00:50:18 UTC
Sure, it's a courier-imap. 3.0.7 to be specific.

Ooook, at the moment, the messages are shown in the message list. The newest one is even selected. But it is not shown in the message windows itself. This time I have to open another message and the click on the new one so that it is displayed.... *confused*

I can confirm this behaviour. This is particular annoying, if your provider is doing spam filtering and sends you a mail containing the list of filtered messages and you use imap to retrieve acidently filtered out mails. Since the header in the message list are not updated, you have to click on each header to find the mail in question.

Does it help to delete and create the account from scratch? I can't reproduce that here so it might be corrupt data. Otherwise it would be good to have a test account where it can be reproduced.
