Description Martin van Es 2005-03-20 16:28:24 UTC
Version: 3.4.0 (using KDE 3.4.0, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-8)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.11

The page:
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/narc/media.html

What happens: I click on one of the movies and it opens a new windows, showing the movie (windows media btw, so big thumbs up for showing it! :)
If I want to see another movie however, konqueror crashes with the following backtrace:

This backtrace appears to be of no use.
This is probably because your packages are built in a way which prevents creation of proper backtraces, or the stack frame was seriously corrupted in the crash.

Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".

Sorry, I can't reproduce.

KDE itself comes with no media player for Windows media formats. Do you have Kaffeine? If so, I think you should report this to the Kaffeine developers.
Comment 2 Martin van Es 2005-03-20 17:26:50 UTC
I just noticed that even switching tabs in the launching konq makes it crash. I do understand that you are not responsible for the media not supported, but from an end-user's perspective it's konq crashing, not kaffeine or noatun, whatever part is used in place...
Comment 3 Leo Spalteholz 2005-03-24 10:15:57 UTC
Yes, this is kaffeine causing konqueror to crash. It will play fine the first time, but click again and it will crash.

Same can be seen here: http://www.cbc.ca/mondayreport/
Click on a movie, it will play in a new window.
Close that window, click on another movie. Konq crashes.

For those watching this bug and not wanting to wait for a fixed kaffeine: try KMPlayer Kpart, it rocks ;)
Comment 5 Ferdinand Gassauer 2005-08-28 21:56:34 UTC
similar problems on CNN
some videos work fine some not
javascript:cnnVideo('play','/video/us/2005/08/28/huffines.katrina.update.9am.cnn');

IMHO subsequent calls to videos are crashing, the first one per konqueror session seems to work usually. Hmm not very precise.
