Description samuel_idm 2005-03-14 08:24:39 UTC
Version: 1.7.2 (using KDE 3.3.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 20040623 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.4-r1, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-gentoo-r6

When I open a new mail hitting "ctrl-n" and start typing the name of the addressee before the new mail's window has opened, those letters typed before the opening of the new window are not entered in the address-field of the mail, but are looked as shortcuts.

Example: I want to write a Mail to marcus. Hit ctrl-n, start typing "marcus@..." before the new mail opened. Instead of filling the word "marcus" into the address line once the window is open, kde does the following: The letter "m" opens the "move" dialog, (the letter "a" does not trigger the "answer" command since it is blocked by the move dialog), and the letters "rcus@..." are filled into the address line of the now open mail.

I would be nice, if the letters following the ctrl-n command were cached and filled into the address line of the new mail. (Outlook does this ;-), not sure about evolution.)

Still true in KDE 4.3

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
Thank you for your understanding.

Instead of creating a new feature request, please confirm here if the wishlist is still valid for kmail2.
