I've opened the topic "KDM Icons 2" in a separate tab (everything inside Kontact). When I click on the screenshot thumbnail of the KDM icons, a new Konqueror window opens. If I click on the screenshot in that window, the window closes. Now if I click on the screenshot thumbnail of the KDM icons again, Konqueror will crash.

Furthermore konqueror seems to only crash if a fresh copy is started by kontact and not if a tab is added to an already running instance, which means, strace probably won't help here (or am I wrong?) I'm pretty sure that those are the right files and no others are in my path. They have been build tonight with '--enable-debug=full --with-debug' which is added by Gentoo's kde.eclass. How can I check if the files contain debug information?
Ok, elfutils seem to provide a tool: eu-readelf -w /usr/kde/3.4/bin/kontact gives eu-readelf: cannot get debug context descriptor: no DWARF information So I assume there's nothing present that gdb can use as symbol information? That leaves the question: How do I build binaries with debug information?
When running ./configure, add --enable-debug=full. And make sure the files aren't stripped after being created.
This should have been done by Gentoo's kde ebuild already. But I've got some trouble with my build system right now (see http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84221) that I will need so sort out first. Can't anybody reproduce my bug (the crasher) on his/her PC?
