Version: 3.4.0 (using KDE 3.4.0, Mandrake Linux Cooker i586 - Cooker) Compiler: gcc version 3.4.3 (Mandrakelinux 10.2 3.4.3-3mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8.1-24mdk The Navigation Panel (is opened when clicking in F9), doesnt have status bar like the rest of konqueror, and also like previous konqueror version (kde-3.3.2)
The correct way to see this bug, is start konqueror webbrowsing profile, than hit F9 and you see that the navigation panel (in whatever tab, be history, root folder, home, or other) doesnt appears the status bar at the bottom like it should appear. If you start konqueror with profile filemanagement, now the navigation panel now appears with the status bar. Very strange behaviour...
continues to dont appear the status bar in left panel, when starting konqueror as web browser.
the navigation panel is not _supposed_ to have a status bar. it was not used for anything and did not line up properly with the main statusbar, giving us several meaningless bevels and boxes.
But if i start konqueror as filemanager the left panel appears with the statusbar, so why not fix the rest?
ah, so your bug is that the status bar appears when started in file manager mode.
no, "the" bug is that the status bar appears in other konqueror profiles such as webbrowsing with the left panel without status bar, so the filemanager profile is working well, is the only that isnt buggy. And isnt also "my bug", is a kde bug
sorry, the status bar NOT being there is the intended and expected behaviour. i know this is the case because that change was intentional. the status bar appearing in file manager mode is what needs to be fixed ... i'll look into it ...
There is definitely a bug here. Starting Konqy in file manager mode (`konqueror ~` is how I started it) and then hitting F9 to view the sidebar displays a statusbar. This is inconsistent with how Konqy behaves otherwise and I believe is an unintended behaviour as the sidebar statusbar is useless.
Now I'm using KDE 3.5.5, In every way I open konqueror, the sidebar doesn't have a status bar. Maybe the bug is fixed on this version?
Seams no one wants to fix this...
I think this bug is related to bug http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100373. The sidebar does not uses the status bar space until F9 is pressed twice.
