Description Alexander Haensch 2005-03-02 21:31:58 UTC
Version: 1.2.1 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from:    Gentoo Packages
Compiler: Gentoo Portage x86 tree no special USE Flags
OS:                Linux

Everytime amarok fades into a new track, the OSD shows a discription of the new track. On my installation it sometimes shows only a empty blue window. There is no "Wolf" in that OSD an NO text at all.
The bug appears not everytime, but nearly every second time Amarok's OSD shows nothing.

What i can tell about my system:
Notebook AMD64 3000+,512MB
slow Toshiba HDD
1400x1050px Resolution, with tuned X.org 6.8 config(nearly 130 dpi).

Is this still valid with amaroK 1.2.3?
Comment 2 Alexander Haensch 2005-04-20 20:00:35 UTC
I'm unable to test it right now, because I get compile errors with GCC 3.4.3 and GCC 3.3.5. I'm working on it.

As nobody else report this with current version and I can't reproduce, I'm closing this bug. Alexander Haensch, please test when you can and reopen this if necessary.

I'm getting this bug with amarok 1.3.2. The OSD is either displaying correctly, distorted, empty and taking up half of the screen or not at all.
When I enable 'OSD Draw Shadow' I get an error message
QImage::convertDepth: Image is a null image
followed by an endless stream of
QImage::pixel: x=N out of range
messages occasionally varied as
QImage::setPixel: x=N out of range
with increasing values for N and a cpu load of 100% as soon as the OSD displays incorrectly the first time.
With shadows disabled it doesn't crash but doesn't display correctly either.
I suppose it has something to do with the album cover not ready when the OSD is shown because it works more often correctly when the track is already loaded in the context tab before and setting the text to something static doesn't help.
system is also gentoo and amarok installed from this ebuild:
media-sound/amarok-1.3.2-r1  +arts -debug +flac +gstreamer +kde -kdeenablefinal +mp3 -musicbrainz -mysql -noamazon +opengl -postgres -visualization +vorbis +xine -xinerama +xmms
$ amarok --version
Qt: 3.3.4
KDE: 3.4.2
amaroK: 1.3.2
