Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.0) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux I guess most people enter the same few channels every day, as well as have some more they enter irregularly, so it would be convenient, if one could bookmark channels, as well as set up some of them to be entered automatically when going online with an irc-account. Of course one can use the commands to be started when going online, yet this is not an option for unexperienced users.
This is what the "on-connect" commands section of the account preferences is for. add "/join #channel" "/join #channel2" ...etc .. for any channels you want auto-joined.
I do not know if you have read the last paragraph of my bug report, but as I stated, the on-connect thingy is not applicable for unexperienced users. If one would rely on the commands one would not even need a "search for channel xyz" menu entry, neither a "enter channel xyz" entry. So if those commands are meant to be in a menu because they should be accessible to unexperienced users not using commands, you cannot expect them to use the commands for bookmarking a channel. I even think that chatzilla has the feature of setting a default channel to enter when going online, but am not sure as it has been a while.
Dear user, unfortunately Kopete is no longer maintained. Please migrate to another solution, e.g. for Jabber a possibility is Kaidan, for Matrix a candidate is NeoChat.
