Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1) Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages When I type into a single-line text field or the location bar the mouse pointer disappears if the mouse pointer is in the text field. That's a feature. However it doesn't reappear when I move the mouse. That's a problem. It does reappear if I move the mouse outside the text field, but that's a long enough delay to throw the user into serious confusion. It's also *extremely* annoying when trying to edit the text in the text field. I often want to just move the caret from one place to another and get really annoyed when the mouse pointer is invisible. Note that this doesn't happen for multi-line text widgets. In that case the mouse pointer behaves as expected. It disappears when I type and reappears immediately when the mouse moves. I presume this may be a QT bug. But I observe it in konqueror. Feel free to report it upstream :)
Tested it on this very page. To quickly reproduce: go to http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100274 and put your mouse over the one-line edit field near the right. Begin typing. (You should notice the mouse cursor become hidden) move the mouse _exactly_ left (not up or down). The mouse will not reappear until you have exited the bounds of the edit field.
Comfirmed in 3.5.5
Cannot reproduce on konqueror 4.
