Is that Kontact-specific? Could you please check (with a recent version, preferably 3.5.5) whether: 1) This is still an issue, and 2) This happens only when using KMail in Kontact, or also in a standalone version of KMail? It does it with Kontact 1.2.3, using KMail 1.9.4 if you make it show detailed progress meters. There are hundreds of progress meters showing useless information such as "retrieving message xxxxx" "filtering message xxx" for each item. Also does it when KMail is run standalone. The progress meter doesn't appear immediately, but takes about 20-30 seconds to begin. Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented. Thank you for your understanding.
