Description Dik Takken 2005-01-10 09:55:17 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

The file associations KCM is perfect for changing personal association preferences, but when you want to change the system-wide defaults it can't help you.

Please add a system administrator mode that allows you to change system-wide settings as easily as user specific settings.

This has been fixed in recent versions of KDE, but it got lost on KDE 4. Please, we need the administrator mode to come back!!!!

Workaround: to run systemsettings as root

This looks like a duplicate of Issue 151669 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151669

I want this feature too, because it is a bit annoying to close system-settings and rerun as root with kdesu :(

As a general concept this isn't going to happen. I'll make this report about your specific use-case.
