The relevant mplayer command is this: mplayer -aid 1 -sid 0 file.ogm This will play the second audio track and will not show the subtitles. Sorry for reposting again... I forgot to mention something: This feature will be best represnted as a menu entry, may be under View. An entry named 'Audio track>' and another as 'Video track>' should show all the available streams (and an option to show none of them). If important, I can create a mockup for this feature. I doubt this but probably the mplayer defaults are -aid 0 -sid 1 I've already added this feature in 0.9.1-rc1. If you wait a few days, the 0.9.1 stable should be released. (and then I close this one, if you don't or tell me not to) Oh.. I see it in the Changelog: "- Support for audio/subtitles within a stream. A language button will be added when detected which has submenus for the languages. GStreamer only subtitles with an external url ATM." I am using 0.9.1-rc1 to play a .ogm file having multiple streams, but I am unable to find any Language button or submenu. Is it my unability to find or is there a bug? If there is, should I file a new bug? There should be a button added between the record button and the position slider. When hovered with the mouse, it popsup a menu. Oh, not for gst yet. If not, then I would be interested in the MPlayer's output (with the -identify option). Currently kmplayer uses: ID_AUDIO_ID=0 ID_AID_0_LANG=eng and ID_SUBTITLE_ID=3 ID_SID_3_LANG=eng to build this menu. Created attachment 13173 [details]

Thanks. I found the button. But I have another problem now. The .ogm file is having two tracks of audio: ID_AID_0_LANG=English ID_AID_1_LANG=Japanese And there is an english subtitle: ID_SID_0_LANG=English Now, the language button is showing only English as an option for "Audio Languages". :-( Also, there is no option to not show the subtitle once it is selected. I'm sorry, but the attachments are of no use for me. The reason is that the important lines are removed here. You should look at the output from MPlayer run at the console w/ the -identify option. Btw. how does this all run with the xine backend? Yeah I thought that they will be of no use to you... anyway. The Xine engine is working fine. It is showing both English and Japanese audio tracks. The problem persists with Mplayer though. And I am sorry for not providing the correct information. Please tell me the exact command to run. I will be looking for some small file with multiple tracks which reproduces the problem meanwhile. Just launch kmplayer from konsole (type 'kmplayer' and then enter). Then start your movie. You will see the full mplayer command that is executed by kmplayer. Now run exactly that command directly from konsole, but either remove the '-wid 12345' option or leave it but then you must have the *same* kmplayer still open and not running (because '-wid 12345' will try to embed in that window). Oh, and you may want to add '-quiet' to not get the runtime status. Created attachment 13177 [details]

Yeah, well I only see, so one audio and one subtitle. ID_AID_0_LANG=English ID_SID_0_LANG=English There are two ID though ID_AUDIO_ID=0/1 but there is no naming for it. Where is the ID_AID_1_LANG=Japanese ? Don't know, at #7 you said there was a ID_AID_1_LANG=Japanese so from where did you get that line? And what does gmplayer do with that file? I think its time to check the MPlayer's mailing lists about this indeed ... Has there been any resolution with this? I have the same issue with OGM files. Only one language shows (there are two) and there is no option for no subtitles. Using the xine backend, both languages show (seemingly an mplayer issue then), but there is still no option to use no subtitles (there is such an option in kaffeine), so that I would consider to be a KMplayer bug, and hopefully fixable somehow. This project is unfortunately no longer maintained. If a new maintainer wants to step up and take care, the project is archived here: https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/kmplayer You can just clone it in your private namespace on invent.kde.org and if you have started to work on it and fixed/implemented something get it reviewed and the project unarchived.
