Version:           1.7 (using KDE 3.3.0, Gentoo)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r6, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)
OS:                Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.5-7.104-default

The message pane has a minimum height which is too large. My display has a resolution of 1024x768 and it is not possible to set the height of the pane lower as appox. 380px when viewing a text message. (Viewing html-messages, the min-height is 290px!?)

With enabled quicksearch and mime-tree, only 3 1/2 lines in the headers pane are shown.

The same effect appears at KMail 1.6.2 (SuSE Linux 9.1)

Do you have a bar on the left of the preview area which indicated if the message is a html-message or not?

Hi, it was not clear from your original report it was about the status bar, hence my question. This is a dup of 82897. The issue will be resolved in version 3.4.1 and up, so in the meanwhile you can use your own patch ;-)
