I'm not able to reproduce this using cvs HEAD. k, than close it I have this problem with KDE 3.3.1. Was this released after the abovementioned version of kate or not? (cvs HEAD from October 10th) On Monday 06 December 2004 03:33, Nicholas Pilon wrote:

HEAD is allways newer than any nreleased version (if the users build if it is
up to date). For release versions, higher numbers means newer.
I know that. I was wondering if that HEAD version was before or after KDE 3.3.1 got tagged. Still have the bug here (on both 3.3.1 and cvs head.) After messing with it on a couple machines it looks like I only loose the toolbar icons when I have manually addded a button that was not originally there to one of the toolbars. In my case the Spellcheck icon to the "Main Toolbar" (aka KatePartView.) Bobby I've also got custom toolbars and, in fact, first observed the bug (back with KDE 2.soemthing) after customizing my kate toolbars. Bobby, I think you need to re-open this bug. Re-opening bug now that it is actually verified. Christoph points out it may be a kdeui bug. this is really a kdelibs bug if that occur, xmlgui seem to mess that up or whatever, not that sure :( Hi, perhaps some light: The toolbar seems to recover the icons if you do include any other icons or simply change the position of any of those already present, it also seems to have some "memory", for it keeps the icons just for the text shown, it is, you have many files open, change to any of them, and indeed, they dissapear, but go back to the file where you added/moved the icons, and they do appear again, as if the icon set were different for every file, and not something general. I can re-confirm this bug on kde 3.52. using kate 2.5.2. Its fairly simple to reproduce. Add the spell check button to the kate toolbar. Then open a couple dozen documents. The click on the close button (from the toolbar) closing your documents on at a time.... toolbar icons dissappear. Icons return when kate is restarted. Bobby I have the same problem. It only happens when I Configure the Toolbars. It is consistently repeatable. I added 3 actions to the Main Toolbar KatePartView. As soon as I did that, strange Toolbar behaviors began. The most annoying and definitely repeatable was the disappearance/rearrangement of application icons. For example, I'd click a tab on the Tab Extension Toolbar, and the New icon would disappear. Then I'd click again, the Open would reappear, but another icon was gone. Eventually icons just disappeared. The Main Toolbar would get shorter and shorter. Stopping and starting Kate would restore the Toolbars. Going back to the default Toolbars would prevent this strange behavior. Kate 2.5.7 and KDE 3.5.7 OpenSuSE. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 64754 *** |
