*** Bug 103293 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Long standing issue. Unfortunately very annoying - I use eight separate email accounts (IMAP) with dozens of folders. Being forced to manually set the Identity for each of them sucks, but even more sucks lack of automatic handling of this feature which, again, forces user to rememeber to set Identity by hand whenever s/he adds new folder to any of non-default account. my idea about solving this (adding this feature): 1. add a little checkbox to the "folder properties" dialog box: "apply to all subfolders" - and - 2. make it possible to select more than one folder in the tree view - and - 3. use the identity tied to the inbox of that account as default for subfolders if nothing else is configured. at least 1. shouldn't be too hard to implement. *** Bug 136210 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 138123 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 143218 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** IMAP accounts have the ability to associate an identity with them now. This is not possible with local folders, since more than one POP3 account can add messages to the inbox. However, you can change the POP3 account settings to receive the mail to a different folder and set an identity for that folder instead. Thomas, Thanks so much for implementing this! Makes setting up a new Kmail instance *much* easier. --Josh |
