Description onsen-neko 2004-08-10 21:54:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Actualy, when a prog startet the Startup notification show this until the prog change the status from starting to another. Mostly it's a normal start and all clear. But sometimes there's a problem and the Programm stoped or crashed. Then the notification ended and the user have noe idea where the prog is.

I think, a change off the icon that show an abnormal ending could be a good way for more transparens.

I was the reporter for the duplicate bug 70806. It was explained to me that this would actually be very difficult to implement in any meaningful way, however including a simple popup box "Unable to start application x" when the startup attempt fails would be better than just leaving the user wondering what happened.
IMO, this is a pretty low priority item and I had forgotten all about it.

This is pretty much implemented now with DrKonqi.
