I also wish there would be an autotext feature. People who write many e-mails with similar content like in a secretary's office would value the possibility to select a text from a drop-down menu. I think M$ Outlook has this feature if M$ Word is chosen as editor. I think, the Edit menu should have an entry "Insert Autotext" and submenus according to the hierarchy of them. The text bits could be stored as plaintext or HTML files within a similar hierarchy under Kmail's working directory. Of course, the next step should be the Edit Autotext Items menu and the next one the option to assign icons on the toolbar to specific autotext entries. See also bug 1015 - an autotext facility suggested there, based on message templates. *** Bug 131000 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 155502 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** As far as I know, this is already there in the newest enterprise branch version, called "snippets" (similar to the snippet plugin KDevelop has). I don't know how complete it is, I'll leave this bug report open until it is ported to trunk. This has just been ported to trunk be Andreas, therefore I close this bug. |
