Description Danny Allen 2004-08-04 21:15:00 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I think that having the progress bar and status at the bottom of the standard splash screen is unneccessary, as the text is always the same and not really that informative. Also, the brogress bar does not fit the bottom status bar properly anyway - this looks amateur and silly.

The solution to this is to remove the status bar completely - this can be done easily, and will not break compatability with existing themes. This will look better, and the user will still be informed by the flashing icons of the default splash.

Please consider this proposal.

Thanks,
Danny

Forgot one last point of my proposed implementation: when the bottom bar is hidden, the colour of the bar is taken, and used to add the bottom 1-pixel border. This way, no difference can be noticed.
