Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from:    Mandrake RPMs

Steps to reproduce:
1. open K3B
2. drop a folder/files larger than 700MB on "New Data DVD Project"

Result: 
1. a "Data CD" instead of a "Data DVD Project" is created.

I can confirm this behavior v0.11.12 (KDE 3.2.3) compiled from source (Gentoo)

note the dvd project works as expected if selected manually.

Works for me in 0.12.17.
Could you check if this bug still occurs with the recent version of k3b 
(0.12.17)?

This is a wish rather than a bug. dropping files on a special button does nothing in k3b yet.
