Version:           3.2.0 (using KDE 3.2.90 (CVS >= 20040117), compiled sources)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.2 (Debian)
OS:          Linux (i686) release 2.6.1dell-optiplex

Searching in a html document I noticed I pressed find one too many times, so I pressed cancel, scrolled to the top of the document (even selected some text there) and then started another search.

I was sure to click 'from cursor' before I pressed find only to see the document to start searching after where I pressed cancel the last time.
Same result without that 'from cursor' checkbox so I don't see any difference at all there.

I had to click find until I reached the end to find my result.

Seems to work fine in all cases with current version. Can you retry?

No change in BRANCH.  Does not work.

What did you do to mark the cursor position?  I ask this since a html document does not have a cursor.

I have exactly the same problem with kde 3.2.1 from sid (and with 3.2.0 too)
no more information to add.

Does it mean that we can't specify a position to start a search ?
I'm sure that with other browser, I can search from anywhere I want in a html page. It's annoying to search a whole page when it's big if I know a bit where to look for.
Does konqueror have this feature, if it's not "from the cursor" ?

dupe of bug 61524.

The caret position is also maintained even if it isn't visible, so clicking onto an arbitrary point in the html page makes it the current caret location.

However, find ignores it.
