Our IMAP server requires (and advertises) AUTH when connected to from outside the local domain. From within the local domain, AUTH is not required, and not advertised. Kmail should not attempt authentication when the server does not advertise AUTH. As it is, I need to manually turn on and off the 'requires authentication' box for the smtp server when I boot my laptop at work or at home (i.e. at least twice a day). In pre-3.2 kmail, this worked fine - When the 'requires authorization' box was checked for the IMAP server, authentification was only used when the server advertised it. Can you recheck this with a newer kmail release? |
